On 01 August members of specialist security company, Vetus Schola Protection Services, completed the C.O.B.R.A. Protection Specialist Self-Defense Course in Somerset West, Cape Town.
The team, who are already highly trained in specialized high risk security work, chose C.O.B.R.A. training to enhance their combative skills in order to offer them the tactical advantage over criminals in the event of an attack on them whilst performing their duties. The team was extremely impressed with the course which covered a variety of self-defense topics and reality based scenario drills.
The training curriculum and methodology of the C.O.B.R.A. Protection Specialist Self-Defense Training Course is based on United States Police Academy training and is unlike any other self-defense training available in South Africa. The C.O.B.R.A. system was developed by Chris Sutton, a former Sheriff, Maximum Security Corrections Officer and multiple black belt martial artist.
“I would highly recommend C.O.B.R.A. Self -Defense South Africa” said Mr. Christiaan Muller, owner of Vetus Schola. Vetus Schola Protection Services is an industry leader in providing high risk security services and demonstrated their commitment towards improving the companies professionalism above that of their competitors by becoming the first security company in South Africa to complete this course. Muller further indicated that his intention is to make C.O.B.R.A. training compulsory for all his personnel and that regular refresher training will be mandatory to keep their skills at optimum level.
