On Thursday 21 July 2016 C.O.B.R.A. Self-Defense South Africa presented a 2 hour Police Academy for Civilians seminar in Bloemfontein. Attendees included members from Afriforum, Community Policing Forum, Neighbourhood watch and private individuals. Topics which were discussed included:
- How criminals think and select their victims
- Aspects the criminal always attempt to control
- Situational awareness (AAA principle) as a tool to defend yourself
- What to do when attacked
- Use of everyday items as improvised weapons
- Myth busting
- Types of attackers and how to identify and deal with each type
The presentation included videos to illustrate certain topics and interactive audience participation demos.
