An attack can happen anywhere, anytime and it is thus essential that one understand how to use everyday items as improvised weapons. In the C.O.B.R.A. Self Defense courses we teach our students the importance of situational awareness. One of the aspects covered in situational awareness is to know what items/objects are available in your immediate vicinity that may be used as improvised weapons during a sudden attack.
We teach our students how a broken CD can be used as a slashing/stabbing tool. We explain how ordinary household cleaning chemicals can be used as a replacement for pepper spray and demonstrate how a broom can be used to create distance and put somebody in a choke hold. Ladies are shown how to correctly use wedding rings as defence weapons, how to use vehicle keys the correct way as a stabbing device and much more!
